সাতক্ষীরা আঞ্চলিক কার্যালয়

 

Bangladesh Rice Research Institute regional station Khulna (now Satkhira) established under strengthening of Rice Research Programme. ECNEC approved the station on 18 April 1985 and sanctioned 13 new posts for this station. The activity of Khulna regional station started in 1996 in a rented house at Nirala, Khulna. An inter-ministerial meeting was hold at Dhaka on 25 April 1999 and according to the decision of this meeting BRRI, BAR & BINA got the Benerpota experimental farm containing total 113.85 acres of land. Another meeting was hold at Benerpota, Satkhira on 6 August 1999 in presence of all DGs of concerning institutes. BRRI got 32.00 acres of cultivable land; BARI & BINA got 19.00 acres each. The remaining 43.85 acres of land containing construction, ponds ect., will be divided equally among the three institutes.

BRRI regional station, Satkhira started its activities on 1 August 1999 in a rented house near Satkhira town. Land demarcation and research activities will start as early as possible. One scientific assistant and one UDA cum Accountant were appointed and they reported in the previous month. 5 out of 13 staff available in this station. It is expected that the PSO and other supporting staff will join as early as possible and BRRI regional station, Satkhira will start functioning will full swing.
